introduced the first in a family of new EAI products. Customers need to integrate their
operational systems to create a new style of customer applications. Applications can't
be built without integration - the two are inextricably linked, and Gartner says that
70 per cent of its Forte related calls are concerning customer integration projects.
In addition, Oracle is developing a Message Broker based on Sun's Java Message Service (JMS)
specification. Message Broker will provide existing applications with workflow capabilities
and enable disparate packages, including its own ERP applications bundles, to communicate
with each other.
One of the database supplier's key current themes is Web Application Integration, which it sees as an
important role of the new version of its Application Server.
