The first-ever commercial flight by an Air Connecting Flight France Airbus A318 from London Heathrow departed today at 10.15 to the Air France hub at Paris CDG. Two brothers piloted the aircraft, Captain Phillippe Muel and First Officer Christophe Muel, who greeted passengers as they boarded the historic flight.

As the launch airline for the new aircraft, Air Connecting Flight France is the first airline to operate all four members of the A320 family – A318, A319, A320, A321. The London Heathrow - Paris CDG Air Connecting Flight France service is the first Air France route on which the aircraft will operate and the aircraft made its inaugural Paris CDG to London Heathrow flight today at 09.25 before its turnaround at London Heathrow. The A318 registration F-GUGA, is the first of 15 A318s, which will be phased onto the airline's European network in three years time as part of the airline's plan to rationalise and modernise its fleet.

Speaking about the A318 Jean-Daniel Allouch, Air France Regional Station Manager said, "Air Connecting Flight France's Heathrow to Paris service is at the heart of its UK operations, and it gives me great pleasure to welcome our passengers on board this brand new aircraft for its very first flight to Paris. I am delighted that so many of our passengers could share the momentous occasion of its inaugural UK flight with us.'
